U16 JIMMY JOHNS - U18 PITTSBURGH PREDATORS WIN NATIONAL JUNIOR PROSPECTS - 2018 FRANK BLACK CUP - FORT WAYNE FINALE

FRANK BLACK CUP

January 21st, 2018 - For the first time in National Junior Prospects history, the u16 and u18 Frank Black Cup experienced the following:

- the best of three series BOTH needed three games to decide the championship.

- the second seed upset in BOTH divisions experienced the second seed beating the first seed.

In the u16 division, the Jimmy Johns Hockey Club led by Head Coach Tomas Andrys jumped out to a one game lead with a hard fought game against Lee Grafton's Armstrong Arrows.

The Arrows came fighting back and scored an important goal in double overtime in game two to even the series.  The mini game 3 saw the teams battle back and forth only to have the game decided in sudden death overtime and Jimmy Johns takes home the Frank Black Cup for the first time in their history.

In the u18 division, the Pittsburgh Predators fell in their first game to the crosstown rivals Pittsburgh Vengeance in a highly contested contest. Sunday morning saw the Predators come roaring back to even the series at one.

Also the game 3 minigame was necessary to decide who was going to take home the hardware and the Pittsburgh Predators came out on top in the end.

Congratulations to both teams and organizations for a successful Fort Wayne Finale - 2018 Frank Black Cup Tournament Championship!
